Learning target: We can recognize the many shades of rhyme
Today we’re going to explore rhyme. I’ll post some “sound stations” around the room, which you’ll mark up as a class. Then we’ll talk about what rhyme does for a poem as well as the different degrees and types of rhyme you can use. What we’re trying to do this week is train our ears to hear sound effects so we can use them in our poems.
The rest of the time you’ll have to work on your poems.
