Goal for the day: To appreciate how archetypes can help us learn about our characters
Welcome back to character…Today we’re going deep, looking at archetypes and how they can help us unlock the keys to our characters.
We’ll share what archetypes you found in the character you’ve chosen to develop and what it helped you discover.
I’ll give you an alternative to the Greek Gods and Goddesses table for you to ponder.
And we’ll use archetypes to analyze Langston Hughes’ Thank You, Ma’am, rich postage stamp story full of symbolism.
We’ll end by you creating an interaction of two of your characters on the page. This can be either dialogue or description.
Assignment for Tuesday, September 16th
Read Hills Like White Elephants and A Clean, Well-Lighted Place by Ernest Hemingway
Read the selection from The Color Purple by Alice Walker
