Goal for the day:
· Get a draft outline done
· Finish organizing your notes
The weekly planner says we’re going to start with a thesis workshop today. We’ll do that tomorrow. Instead we’re going to talk schedule. The due dates for your paper are the following:
· Soft deadline: Friday, April 24th
· Hard deadline: Monday, April 27th
· Revision? Yes, you’ll have one week after I hand back your essay to revise your paper and improve your grade. I will grade essays in the order that they come in. This means the earlier you turn your in, the sooner you get the feedback and the more prepared you’ll be for your presentation.
With this in mind you’ll give your preferences for when you want to do your presentation. Open the presentation schedule document I shared with you. Pick your top three slots by putting your name and 1, 2, or 3 in that slot. For example, I would type “Marcus1” in my top slot, “Marcus2” in my second, etc.
Send me a separate email with any extenuating circumstances that you want me to be aware of when I assign you times. Think about this…
· Pros to going early – You’re done sooner. All that will be left after your presentation will be paneling for your fellow students.
· Pros to going late – You can fiddle more with your presentation. But your paper will have the same due dates.
After we get through this, keep going on your organization and paper. Based on check-ins, some of you should have a draft outline for me to look at today. Some of you are still organizing your sources. Some of you are still finishing your reading.
Homework due Thursday, April 2nd
