Goal for the day:
I’m going to start today giving an example of one way to organize material. I’m visual person and so I need to create flow charts to see how ideas connect. I’ll show you a couple of my mind maps to spark some ideas for organizing your material.
Then two announcements…
1) Here is the current schedule for senior project presentations. Matt and I will allow you to trade with fellow students if there is a particular reason that you don’t like where you ended up.
2) I was slightly inaccurate on Monday about the grading/passing policy. You must pass senior project in order to graduate. Your senior project can pull up your economics grade but not the other way around. Here is the official policy:
Animas High School Senior Project Requirements
· All Animas High School seniors must successfully complete their Senior Project with a 70% or higher.
· Students will not receive their diploma until they successfully complete Senior Project.
· The privilege of walking at graduation will be determined by the credit committee.
· Students who fail to successfully complete their Senior Project will work with their teachers during the week after graduation, to refine their work and demonstrate proficiency.
· Students who do not successfully complete their senior project after the second attempt will have a meeting with their teachers, Credit Remediation and Promotion Committee and advisor to develop a success plan.
· Second semester of Senior Humanities is an average of 3rd & 4th quarter.
The rest of the time is yours today. Really try to get your outline done and checked today if you can. You have a three-day weekend if you’re not going on the geology field trip. Make the most of it. Your target next week is to finish a draft of your whole paper. So, do a bit on Saturday and Sunday so you can hit the ground running the rest of the week.
Homework for Tuesday, April 7th
Depending on where you are in the process: Finish reading sources OR Finish outline OR Start writing
- Finish your outline
