Goal for the days:
· Finish your outline
· Get writing
** Mike will be here on Wednesday and Thursday as I’m hosting Charles Heying, the speaker for the artisan economy event. He has five presentations over these two days including one with the city staff.
Use your time productively. Remember the resources and student exemplars under Student Resources. Look at yesterday's blog. Pick up a weekly planner handout if you weren't in class yesterday. These are the things that should be on your to-do list.
· Finish your reading and annotations
· Finish Deep Reading assignment
· Meet with your advisor and get the SPAM-2 handout signed, sealed, and delivered
· Create an outline and send it to me so I can give you the green light to start writing
· Write – Once you’ve started writing try to finish writing a section a day for the rest of the week, so you have a full draft by Friday for me to take home and give you comments on. I’d start with either section I or section III.
I will give you feedback on your draft, especially your thesis and structure, so you can have some guidance as you move into revision. Remember the first deadline to turn in your final paper is Friday, April 24th.
In my absence seek out Matt with specific questions. His students are writing all week so he should be available to answer quick questions.
I’ll be back on Friday to check in on your progress. I’ll try to check in with everyone this day. I have office hours on Friday after school if you’d like to have a longer conversation.
REMEMBER – Economics extra credit event: Handmade Wealth: Lessons for Durango from Portland’s Artisan Economy – 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Durango Arts Center. YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH ME TO GET CREDIT FOR BEING THERE. Skipping out early cancels any points that you earn.
Homework over the next two days
Write…Try to have at least 30 minutes of solid writing each night.
