Goal for the day:
We’ll start our week of listening to the end of President Obama’s Selma speech. In thinking about what leaders to support, one criteria to use is what kind of stories they tell us about who we are and what our individual role is within the country. At the end of the speech, he is appealing directly to young people like you. What do you think about what he has to say? We’ll pick it up at 28:55.
Then I will pass out the weekly planner to help keep your senior project on track. This week is all about getting more sources under your belt. If you actively read and annotate one source a day you will have minimal work to do over Spring Break.
I will emphasize four things as we go over the outline
1) The minimum number of academic journals or books you need is FIVE, not eight as I told you last week. I’ve reviewed this with Matt and I want to make sure the expectations are the same for all seniors
2) During your next meeting with your SP advisor, they will review your notes on your sources. Make sure these notes are presentable and easily understood. I would highly encourage you to fill out the Source Evaluation worksheet for each source.
3) I will be passing back your True Wealth proposals today and tomorrow. If you would like to revise your proposal, your revision will be averaged with your original submission for your final grade. Revisions will be due Friday, April 4th.
4) The exhibition tomorrow night is worth 20 points on your economics grade. Review the Exhibition Guidelines to make sure you do well
Other than that, you have work time…
Homework due Tuesday, March 17th
Make sure you’re ready for exhibition tomorrow evening.
- For you to understand the goals for the week
- For you to read and annotate another source
