Goals for the day:
· Organize your notes for SPAM-2 meeting
· Check-in with me on your deep reading, notes, and anything else
Welcome back! You’re now in the home stretch.
This week you’ll move from outlining your senior project to writing your initial draft. Today you are on track if you have the following:
· Bibliography (MLA, 8-10 sources, at least 5 academic)
· Organized notes on at least 8 sources, ready to present to your advisor
So, I’ll let you get started right away adding any additional sources to the bibliography you shared with me. Then, get your notes together for your meeting with your advisor.
Once you have these done, let me know. I will do a quick review and check-in to see where you are. While I am checking your notes, review the "Elements" handout. Matt updated this document, so I’m giving you a new copy. Make sure you understand each section.
If your SPAM-2 meeting is on Monday afternoon or Tuesday. Start creating a quick outline to show your advisor. Follow the format in the "Elements" handout.
If your SPAM-2 meeting is Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, take the time to read at least one Senior Project Exemplar from past years from start to finish. As you read, note how the author approaches each element. How will you approach it when you write?
Recommended: Tucker L: Water Arc Explosions (Science/Physics)
Molly B - Education and Standardized Testing (Educational Philosophy)
Shannon E: Art and Education (Educational Philosophy)
Tony W: Music and the Brain (Neuroscience and Music Theory)
Cori G: Conceptualizing Beauty (Psychology)
Consider as you read:
1. How does the author approach each Element?
2. Given the differences between this topic and yours, how will YOU approach each element?
Use what you glean from this reading to inform the outline you construct for your advisor.
Homework due Tuesday, March 31st
Finish whatever you haven't done under Monday's daily objectives.
**Remember that revisions of your True Wealth Proposal are due this Friday**
