· Understand how to apply the idea of externalities
· Complete Level I of deep reading assignment
We're going to start today with Dylan taking the reins and steering us into the swampiness of environmental economics where a lot of the "laws" of the market start to bog down. How do you account for environmental damage in our economic systems? What are the incentives? What policy responses can we use to encourage a healthy environment?
We'll start with this video and then break down into different discussion activities.
Then before break, I’ll pass out and talk about a couple of handouts for senior project. The most important for now will be the weekly calendar that gives you daily goals for where you should be in your research. For the next few weeks our calendar will differ slightly from the other seniors. But after spring break, our calendars will converge with the other classes and you’ll be on the same trajectory as the other classes for the remainder of the year.
I’ll also be passing out the Elements Handout, which provides an outline of the structure of your final paper.
After break, you’ll have the rest of the day to work on the deep reading assignment for your senior project or finish up work for your True Wealth assignment.
